Learn how to create fully manual wholesale orders in Shopify that apply Wholesale Gorilla pricing after creation, giving you full control over shipping, taxes, discounts, and line-item customization.

Creating a manual wholesale order follows Shopify’s standard Draft order workflow with one extra step to apply Wholesale Gorilla pricing. Because this is a fully manual order, you’re responsible for adding shipping, taxes, and any other fees. Order limit rules are not enforced on manual drafts, so apply those requirements yourself if needed.

Creating wholesale orders

Important!

Tags and custom line items cannot be added until after your wholesale discount has been applied. Applying a discount to orders with custom items or tags will cause an error.

To add custom line items to a manual order, first create the draft order and apply the wholesale discount. After the discount has been applied, you can add custom line items.

To create a manual wholesale order:

1. 1. In Shopify, click Create order to start a new draft.

   2. Add the products you want on the order. (Wait to add any custom line items until after wholesale pricing is applied.)

   3. Assign the customer. The customer must have at least one tag that matches a Price Rule tag in Wholesale Gorilla.

   4. Add a valid shipping address. Wholesale pricing will not apply until an address is present.

   5. Click Save on the draft.

   6. At the top of the draft, open More actions → Apply Wholesale Price Rules.

   7. Refresh the page to lock in wholesale pricing. (You may need to refresh more than once.)

   8. If needed, add any custom line items after the discount has been applied.

Once pricing is applied, you’ll see the retail price crossed out with the wholesale price shown alongside it. From here, you can email the invoice so the customer pays through your Shopify payment gateway, hold the draft until you’re ready to finalize, or record payment outside of Shopify and then mark the draft as Paid. Applicable account/price rule tags are added to the order automatically, which makes it easy to filter and report on these manual wholesale drafts later.

OPTIONAL: If you wish to add on taxes, shipping, or any additional discounts to the order, you can do so via those settings in the 'Payment' box. These will remain adjustable until the order is paid, or updated to a status other than 'Draft'.

Please note this a fully manual order. Any minimum rules, shipping rates, etc. will be ignored and only the wholesale price rules will be applied.
