The Wholesale Gorilla app allows you to export a .csv file of your products and their wholesale prices. You can export either a specific price list based on a tag or all products in your catalog. This CSV file can then be modified and re-imported to update wholesale prices efficiently.
You can now manage wholesale prices via CSV, allowing for quick and efficient management of discount rules, by following 3 steps:
- export a .csv file of your wholesale price rules or your product catalog through our app.
- Important!: to use our feature, you must export your product list through Wholesale Gorilla, and not through Shopify.
- edit the .csv file to quickly set up price rules or percentage discounts for your product's variants.
- import your edited .csv file back into Wholesale Gorilla
To successfully utilize this CSV feature, merchants should be familiar with wholesale discount rules and be comfortable with working with .csv files. For detailed information, please refer to the Wholesale Discount Rules Guide.

Editing price rules
WARNING! Please read carefully!
In order to ensure proper functionality, the following rules must be followed:
- The only column you should edit is the Wholesale Price column. No other values should be altered in any way.
- Do not remove or rename any columns from the csv file. Doing so will break the feature.
Once you have successfully exported your price rules into a CSV file, follow these steps to edit them.
-
Open the .csv file
- Open the .csv file in an environment that does not automatically convert the data. Popular options include Microsoft Excel, Google Sheets, or a plain text editor.
- Important: When importing the .csv file, ensure that any option to convert data is disabled. This will prevent any automatic formatting that could alter your data.
-
Editing the wholesale price column
- Locate the column labeled Wholesale Price in your .csv file. This is the only column you need to edit for updating price rules.
-
Set a Fixed Price: To set a fixed wholesale price for a variant, enter the amount as a number. For example, if you want the price to be six hundred twenty-three dollars and five cents, enter
623.05
. -
Set a Percentage Discount: To apply a percentage discount to a variant, enter the discount percentage followed by the percent symbol (%). For example, if you want to apply a 12% discount, enter
12%
in the Wholesale Price column.

By following these steps, you can accurately edit your price rules without any unintended data conversion, ensuring the integrity of your pricing strategy.
When using the CSV import/export feature for price rules, some spreadsheet editors may automatically reformat large numbers in the ID column as scientific notation. For example, an ID like 10034585495643 may appear as 1E13, which can lead to errors during import. To prevent this, ensure that the ID column is set to “Text” format in your editor before saving the file. This keeps the ID as a multi-digit number and prevents it from converting to scientific notation. If you’re using Excel, you can select the entire ID column, right-click, choose Format Cells, and select Text to lock the formatting.
