Step 1: Creating a price list

Price lists - an overview

Price lists allow you to set custom pricing rules for specific customer groups based on tags. By applying a single tag to multiple customer accounts, you can create a shared pricing structure for those customers.  Any customer account that has a tag associated with a price list is considered a wholesale customer.

When creating or editing a price list, the first step is selecting the customer group by choosing a tag. This tag determines which customers will receive the pricing rules you set. For example, if you use the tag wholesaleA, any customer account with the tag wholesaleA in their profile will automatically receive the assigned pricing.

Once a tag is selected, you can define price rules for specific products, collections, or for your entire store. Price rules can be set in two ways:

  • Fixed price – Set a specific price for the product or collection.

  • Percentage-based discount – Apply a discount percentage to reduce the original price.

With this system, you can easily manage wholesale pricing, VIP discounts, or any other customer-segmented pricing strategy.

Creating a price list

To create a price list, navigate to Pricing & Discounts within the Wholesale Gorilla app.  Then, select Manage prices within the Wholesale price lists card at the top of the page.

This will take you to the price list index where you will see all of your set price lists.

Adding customers to a price list

To set a customer group, add the tag associated with the customers you want to be affected.  Once entered, you will see how many of your customers will be affected by the price list.

To add more customers to the list, select Manage customers in the top right.  This will bring up a list of your customers.  You can manually select all customers you want to have access to these price rules.  Selecting customers will add the customer tag associated to the customer group to their accounts.  Deselecting customers will remove the customer tag from their accounts.  When complete, click Update to save changes to your customer group.

Setting price rules

To set your first price rule, click Add price rule within the Price rules section.  You will be prompted to select either a collection, a product, or the entire store for your first price rule.

To create a price list, navigate to Pricing & Discounts within the Wholesale Gorilla app.  Select Manage prices within the Wholesale price lists card at the top of the page.  Then, click Create price list, located at the top right corner of the price list index.

You will see a list of your products or collections, based on which option you selected previously.  Select the product or collection you would like to create a price rule for, then click Add.

The selected product or collection will be added to the price rules section, where you can select the type of price rule (set price or percent off) and the amount to be set for any price rule in the list.

If a product has variants that you’d like to set individually, click on the product’s variant link underneath the product name, and a modal will pop up for you to set individual variant price rules.

To add more price rules, click +Add price rule, found at the top right of the Price rules section, and repeat.

Click save to save your price rules.
